Alstonville and District Football Club (Villa FC) has been providing a fun football experience for the people of the Alstonville Plateau since 1972.

During our proud history we have focused on being an inclusive club promoting positive behaviours and participation in team sport.

The club provides a pathway for talented players with strong teams in both the men's and women's premier divisions and in the junior competitions.

There are fifteen teams playing in finals this year (as opposed to eight last year).

Also, three teams were pointscore champions:

  • Gr13 Girls (Red Devils)
  • Gr13 1st (Bombers)
  • Gr14 1st (Redbacks)

Mens 6th made the finals also but have already played and lost by a narrow margin.

Villa Girls Feature in Trinity Win

On Monday and Tuesday (1-2 Sept) the Trinity Open school team competed in the Catholic College knock out comp finals in Sydney.

Three Villa players featured in the team who won all their games & the state title. These were Courtney Jameson, Abbey Brown & Georgia Keen (who scored three goals in the final).

The team now goes on to compete at the all schools finals next week. Congratulations to the girls and good luck for next week!

Womens Prems Need YOUR Support TONIGHT!

On Friday Night our Womens Premier team won their qualifying final against Workers 1-0. This was a great result for our team.

They will now play Bangalow in a semi final - this Wednesday night 7:00PM at Bangalow - with the winner going through to the grand final.

The team has put out a call to all Villa supporters to try to get down to the game and cheer on our team! They would really appreciate some Villa support on the night.

Last night in their final game of the regular season our Mens Premier team defeated Bangalow 3-2, securing 5th spot on the ladder and putting them into the finals for the first time ever.

This was a courageous effort by the team and one which was much celebrated afterwards.

And in the game before hand our Mens Premier Reserve team also won - consolidating their place in the top five (3rd or 4th) and putting them into the finals also.

Eight Villa Players in FFNC Girls Team

The trials for the FFNC Gr14 girls team which will compete at the State Championships in September has been completed.

Eight Villa players were selected for this team which will compete in Coffs Harbour from 20-21 September against other regional teams. This tournament also serves as a chance to be identified to join the State squad that competes at the National titles in 2015.

The girls selected were Amy Keen, Abbi McInnes, Jessie Jordan, Sophie Sproule, Emily Wiltshire, Kelsey McLeod, Lily Evans and Anna Margraf. Congratulations to all these girls on such a great achievement!

Our other players also performed well and Villa had the biggest representation at the trials which is also a great reflection on our club and the health of female football here on the plateau. Well done Villa!

A-League in Lismore!

2014 Carnival Big Success - Despite Weather!

Being our biggest carnival yet with 124 teams registering, organisers were greeted with overcast and rainy conditions early on Sunday morning.

However the carnival went ahead and all teams turned up.

One solitary unsavoury incident at a junior non-competitive game last weekend has prompted this important communication to confirm a “clear and definitive” Code of Behaviour to everyone, regardless of the role you may have in our game.

Villa Hoodies - Limited Qty!

We have for sale a very limited quantity of Villa Hoodies. They will be for sale at GW canteen on Saturday morning and will sell out fast!

Anna at National Championships!

Villa FC player Anna Margraf has just competed at the National Youth Girls Championships in Coffs Harbour.

The Tournament ran over five days and included teams from Australian states and territories.

This is a great achievement for Anna who represented Northern NSW (considered as a state for football purposes) in the Gr13 Girls team.

Both the Gr13 and Gr15 teams were very competitive against the other states.

Joel Wins Fun Run

On Sunday our very own Joel Organ - Mens Premier Player - entered the 10km Ballina Lions Fun Run. After finishing 3rd last year he ran a bit faster this year and won the event. Well done Joel!

Keeper & Fitness Training Update

Keeper training is starting up again on Monday 2nd June at CP2 at 5:30PM. Our esteemed keeper coach, Andy Brown, has recovered sufficiently from his knee operation and is ready to go again. Can't keep a good man down!

Also, our girls fitness training sessions are now starting 30 minutes earlier at 5:OOPM and finishing at 6:30PM. Next session is also Mon 2nd June. All girls in Gr12-16 welcome.

VILLA Wins Prestigious NSW Sports Award!

This award is a great honor for our club and a credit to all our members and volunteers who do so much - thank you (give yourselves a pat on the back).
