Villa FC is once again running a SAP program in 2020 for 8-11yr players. Trials are on 15 and 22 Sep 2019.
SAP is a dedicated intensive Skills Acquisition Program developed to meet the 4 key Skills areas of the Football Federation of Australia's national curriculum, these 4 skills are 1st touch, Running with the Ball, 1 vs 1 and Striking the ball. The program is aimed at developing skilled players into talented players and will provide a strong development pathway into Junior competitive football and beyond.
After the success of the 2019 program, Villa FC. are looking for skilled, engaged, enthusiastic and coach-able players and will be offering the opportunity for these players who will be in the 8, 9, 10 or 11 grades in 2020 to trial for next seasons Skills Acquisition Program.
TRIAL DATES: Sunday 15th and 22nd September between 3 and 4 pm for players turning 8 and 9 years old in 2020 at Geoff Watt Oval.
Sunday 15th and 22nd September between 4 and 5:30pm pm for players turning 10 and 11 years old in 2020 at GW.
The program will -
* Select players on ability / potential as well as expecting enthusiasm, willingness to learn, good behaviour and attitude. (please note: The program is a "selection" based program, attending trials will not necessarily guarantee your child a place in the program)
* Attract a cost (TBA 2019 program cost was $300)
* Run for approximately 20 weeks
* Have 2 training sessions each week in addition to club training.
NOTE: Parents of players wishing to trial and be selected for the 2020 SAP will need to be able to commit to getting their child to 2 training sessions per week, and travel regionally (i.e. Byron, Bangalow, Lennox, Pottsville) for SAP gala days held regularly throughout the season. Club team coaching sessions may conflict with SAP training sessions, in these cases it is preferred that your child would attend the SAP session.
